Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe
by Therese Johnson Borchard
In the early morning chill of December 1531, outside a small town in Central Mexico, a humble peasant named Juan Diego was making his way to the Franciscan house to attend Mass and devotions. Along his way, he encountered a radiant woman who spoke to him of love and compassion. We refer to this woman with great devotion as Our Lady of Guadalupe.
In this pamphlet, Therese Johnson Borchard uses Juan Diego’s moving story of faith and courage as the basis for a traditional novena. This nine-part prayer experience is a unique way to honor the unwavering faith of Juan Diego and the grace and love of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
